妙蓮寺はそのうちの1つです。

今年（2013年）の京都は桜が綺麗に紅葉していました。

十六羅漢石庭は江戸時代初期の作庭ですが、火災により損傷を受け、昭和に造園当時の姿で復元されました。

また御会式櫻という珍しい桜を見ることができます。
10月の中頃から咲き始め、4月8日（お釈迦様のお誕生日）の頃に満開になるそうです。
6カ月近くも咲き続ける、不思議な桜です。

Myoren-ji is one of those beautiful gardens.

The rock garden "Jyuroku Rakan Sekitei" was originaly constructed in Edo period.
However, it got the serious damage by fire therefore it was reinstated as same as the original design in Showa period.

Myoren-ji Tsubaki (Camellia) is another famous icon of this temple.

Moreover, there are unique Sakura called "Oeshiki Sakura" which started flowering in the middle of October and fully bloomed around 8th April that is Budda's birthday.
They are amazingly flowering for 6 months.

Furthermore, you can stay in a guest house kept by a temple. (Must make reservation)

京都駅バスターミナルより、京都市営バス9号（B1乗り場）に乗車、堀川寺ノ内バス停下車（約25分）。

Take Kyoto-shi bus No. 9 from Kyoto Bus terminal(B1 platform) and get off at "Horikawa Teranouchi" Bus stop. (about 25 mins)
