This shrine has a long history.
It is said that in 947 Michizane SUGAWARA was enshrined and it was the beginning of this shrine.

京都駅バスターミナルより、京都市営バス50号・101号（B2乗り場）に乗車、北野天満宮前バス停下車（約30分）。
Apr - Sep : 5:00 - 18:00
Oct - Mar : 5:30 - 17:00
Take Kyoto-shi Bus No 50 or No 101 from Kyoto Station bus terminal (B2 plat form) then get off at Kitano Tenmangu-mae Bus stop (about 30 mins)
